LUNATI ANNOUNCES NEW PRO SERIES 6.300-INCH CONNECTING RODS FOR LS RACE ENGINES: CREATED TO HANDLE MORE POWER AND MORE RPM
Lunati has announced a new Pro Series 6.300-inch connecting rod. It is designed especially for all aftermarket LS large displacement racing blocks with 9.500 to 9.750-inch deck heights. However, these new American-made rods, which complement Lunati’s recently introduced Pro Series LS long-stroke crankshafts, will fit all LS blocks.
Their chief advantages are two-fold. First, when compared with the 6.125-inch con-rod, their longer length provides essential crankshaft clearance, eliminating the necessity of cutting away valuable counterweight material and the subsequent headaches and extra costs involved in rebalancing. Second, the 6.300-inch long rod restores a more desirable stroke-to-rod ratio. Further, it retains the correct compression height for the piston.
Derived from aerospace 4340 alloy steel, which is oil quenched, tempered, and tested, these premium quality connecting rods were created to handle more power and more rpm. They are perfect for all-out race engines, for Street-strip engines, even Street Rods—in fact any LS engine where a stroke length of 4.125 inch or longer is desired.
Weighing 245 grams, they are sized on the big end for 2.100-inch crank pins and on the small end for .928-inch piston pins. Finally, they are equipped with ARP2000 series rod bolts—this company’s finest fastener.

TREND’S NEW BRONZE-INSERT SERIES PUSHRODS: Created for high-horsepower engines and now available on 24-Hr QuickShip program
Trend Performance is introducing a new series of bronze-insert one-piece pushrods. They are prepared especially for Pro Stock teams, 800 CID Mountain Motor racers, Top Sportsman teams, and large-displacement nitrous engine builders. Further, they are particularly proficient in resolving lubrication troubles around the rocker balls. In addition, BZ pushrods are now available on Trend’s 24-hour QuickShip program.
Created from 4130 chrome-molybdenum thick-wall tubes, pre-formed and centerless-ground with a high-load bearing bronze insert, these shelf-stock items are fully heat-treated and available in diameters of 7/16 x .165-inch wall or 1/2 x .200-inch wall or 9/16 x .187-inch wall. On the lifter end they are manufactured with conventional ball-end diameters of 5/16 or 3/8 inch. On the top end, the bronze insert is press-fitted and machined with a .140-inch radius cup—designed to accept the popular 9/32-inch rocker adjuster ball.
This new BZ Series is case hardened to Rockwell Rc60 for extra strength and rigidity and made available in straight form, full single taper, or double taper (tapered from the center to the each end)
To lubricate the upper cup and rocker ball, a thin oil passageway runs through the center of the pushrod allowing pressurized oil to travel from the lifter bore to the rocker.
The heat treating process for the BZ Series is a one-step carbo-nitriding process, administered in an atmospheric furnace containing a combination of ammonia and natural gas. Carbon is induced into the surface of the pushrod from the natural gas, nitride from the ammonia.

DEI Titanium Turbo Shield
Design Engineering (DEI) has come to the rescue with their new Titanium Turbo Shield with LR Technology custom fit for T3 turbochargers. Constructed from pulverized lava rock, extruded into fibers and then woven into a tight weave, gives this material titanium-like strength and durability. A high temperature rated silica insulation padding serves as added protection to handle direct continuous heat up to 1800 degrees F (980°C) and up to 2500 degrees F (1370°C) of radiant heat.
This improvement in underhood thermal management helps keep more heat inside the turbo to spool up faster while reducing radiant temperatures resulting in cooler air intake temperatures for improved performance and a boost in horsepower.
