When building a show car there is no detail too small and the guy with the most detail has the best car. When your 70-72 GM A-body Chevelle, GTO, 442, Skylark, Monte Carlo & Grand Prix was brand new these are the rotors it started life with. Eibach Gives 2010 Camaro SS Performance Gains and 13% Mileage Increase

Recent testing revealed that off-the-shelf Eibach suspension components dramatically improve performance and mileage in a 2010 Camaro SS. Known worldwide for their success on the race track, Eibach has effectively applied this knowledge to the street with their Pro-Plus Performance Handling Package for the hot new Chevrolet Camaro.

Five performance tests were conducted at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, California by TestPilotsTM Independent Testing Services and drifting champion Sam Hubinette. An Eibach-equipped 2010 Camaro SS outperformed the same car in stock configuration in 0-60 acceleration and all-out cornering, as well as slalom and road course lap times. After the tests, Hubinette said, “The Camaro is more precise and rewarding to drive.” He continued, “While the SS suffered from persistent understeer in stock configuration, the Eibach springs and anti-roll kit turned it into a much sharper, responsive instrument.”

Baseline tests with the showroom stock Camaro SS were conducted in the morning, using state-of-the-art electronic testing equipment. Then, the Eibach Pro-Plus Package, consisting of Pro-Kit progressive lowering springs and Anti-Roll Kit, was installed onsite while TestPilotsTM observed the process and certified that no other changes were made to the vehicle.

In the afternoon, Hubinette pushed the modified SS to its limits once again. Even though the air and track temperatures were much higher, the Eibach-equipped Camaro outperformed its stock counterpart in nearly every test. LUNATI’S GOT ‘EM: ELEVEN NEW LONG STROKE CRANKSHAFTS FOR LS-SERIES RACE BLOCKS PRODUCING 1,000-PLUS HORSEPOWER 

Though the LS-series engine has been around for more than a decade, it was traditionally hampered by displacement limit. Needless to say, with the exception of General Motors’ prohibitively expensive C5-R road race block, the normal “big-inch” LS engine was rarely larger than 400 cubic inches.

The aftermarket (World Products, GM LSX, and RHS among them) has since responded with cylinder cases capable of yielding more than 500 cubic inches, at a relative fraction of the cost of the C5-R precursor. Lunati recognized the urgent need for off-the-shelf, long-stroke crankshaft forgings, and they were first to address the situation with a new series of forged stroker crankshafts and rotating assemblies.

Using premium 4340 steel forgings that are capable of handling 1,000+horsepower, Lunati has integrated these new LS crankshafts into their existing Pro Series line. They are endowed with micro-polished and lightened connecting rod journals, gun-drilled mains to reduce rotating mass, special counterweight profiles that shed oil and reduce windage, and their exclusive finite detailing, profiling, and nitriding processes.

Lunati is pioneering eleven different off-the-shelf crankshafts with stroke lengths including but not limited to 4.250, 4.325, 4.425, 4.500, 4.525, 4.600, and 4.625 inches. All dimensions are based on a 6.300-inch rod length, 2.559-inch main bearing journals, and 2.100-inch rod bearing journals. Long snout applications are ready for the 4.500- and 4.600-inch crankshafts. Custom strokes are also available and Lunati can supply stroker crankshafts with a pin size of 2.200-inch (big-block size) or the long LS7 snout. Inline Tube Chevelle Exhaust Hangers

There is no doubt your 68-72 Chevelle is missing the original exhaust pipes or could even be on the 4 or 5 th set. The exhaust hangers in most cases were cut off and thrown away with the exhaust and replaced with generic hangers. These generic hangers held the exhaust in place but do not always look or fit so great. LIGHTWEIGHT BIG-BLOCK CHEVY DAMPERS FROM PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS

Need to lose a little weight? If you run a 396,427,454 or 502 Chevy big-bock, Professional Products’ new lightweight dampers can help you lose up to 4.8-pounds. The 80000 Series is 4.2-pounds lighter, while the 90000 Series (SFI-spec) is 4.8-pounds lighter than the Professional Products regular big-block dampers. A lighter damper produces quicker acceleration as well as weight savings.

Dampers #80036 ($94.00) and #90036 ($226.00) fit the 396/427, while the #80037 ($103.00) and #90037 ($235.00) fit the 454/502 engines. Manufactured from all new tooling, each part is injection molded or die-cast and pre-assembled to allow the installer minimum effort for installation. These models come complete with the inner glove box, SS emblem, console lamp, console door and lock assembly. Also included are the forward plate assembly for the 1963, the shift pattern for the 1964, and the shift indicator assembly for the 1964 Powerglide. Each console assembly can be used with a 4-speed emblem for manual transmission models or with a Powerglide shift plate for automatic transmission models. The 4-speed and automatic shift plates are sold separately. Officially licensed by GM.

TCI® announces the development of a new A36 steel flexplate designed to provide many popular GM LS-powered vehicles with increased high rpm durability

Although the new GM LS engines are well-known for big horsepower, durability at high rpm is often sacrificed when using stock flexplates and other overlooked drivetrain parts behind these powerful engines. In response to this dilemma, engineers at TCI® have recently developed a new high performance flexplate made specifically to link many popular GM LS engines (LS1, -2, -6 & -7) to a GM 4L80E automatic transmission. The LS-Series 4L80E SFI-Approved Flexplate is engineered by TCI® to avoid cracking and ring gear breakage, which are both common failure points of lesser quality flexplates under the strains of high rpm usage.
